About the Competition

Code to Save is a competition organised by Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) for students from Grade 1
through 6 to apply what they have learnt in their coding lessons in real-life scenario.

Code to Save competition aims to inculcate and engage young children on the importance of sustainable
consumption and protecting the environment. Students will use the ubbu coding programme to present their ideas.



Competition Brief

The Code to Save competition will be based on real-life situations. In groups, students are encouraged to
collaborate with one another and demonstrate their leadership skills, fostering their communication skills,
as they express ideas, exchange opinons, and discover solutions.

Students can apply key skillsets they have learnt through their ubbu practices and apply concepts from
Computer Science, Coding, and STEAM into learning throughout the competition.

What to Submit?

The Code to Save competition will be based on real-life situations. Students will register as a team of three (3) to participate in the competition. They will need to code using the ubbu coding programme on MCEduHub based on the theme of Environmental Sustainability.

Registered students should be from Grade 1 to 6 only. Educators will have to register on behalf of the students.

How to Submit?

After registration is completed, each school will be issued access code(s) for each competing team to login to MCEduHub. Once logged in, they will have access to the ubbu coding programme to prepare for the competition. Once completed, participants will submit their entry on MCEduHub for judging.


Competition Charges

Schools who wish to send their students to participate in the competition will be charged an amount per student.

Each student will be charged the equivalent of SGD 10 (exchange rates apply).

*For every team, there will be a complimentary teacher account provided. Teachers will have to indicate how many students there will be in each team they are sending.

Terms and Conditions

  1. All information shared to us will follow Marshall Cavendish Education's data protection and privacy
  2. Winners will be informed via email or other communication platforms, depending on the information given.
  3. Winners will be selected by the Organiser's internal panel of judges and the decision is final.
  4. All entries are sent at the risk of the Contestant and in the event that there are technical difficulties experienced arising out of the internet or from any associated equipment or from any associated equipment or internet security is compromised, the Organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion disqualify the entire entry and shall not accept any liability doing so.
  5. The Prize is as stated and is non-transferable and not-for-sale. No cash alternatives will be offered. If due to circumstances beyond the Organiser’s control, the Organiser is unable to provide the stated Prize or any part thereof, the Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or greater value, to be determined at the Organisers’ sole discretion.
  6. Late submission will be automatically void.
