Singapore, 11 October 2018 – Leading educational solutions provider, Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE), unveiled Singapore’s first AR-enabled Science encyclopedia at the annual Frankfurt Book Fair yesterday, 10 October 2018. The latest edition of the popular Mini Science Encyclopedia is equipped with Augmented Realty (AR) capabilities to deepen learning experiences and help children rediscover the joy of learning.

“At Marshall Cavendish Education, we are continuously evolving to ensure that we offer high-quality and future-facing educational solutions to facilitate learning. With immersive technologies like AR, we can effectively engage tech-savvy learners in today’s digitalised world,” said Ms. Lee Fei Chen, Head of Publishing of Marshall Cavendish Publishing Group. “The latest edition of the Mini Science Encyclopedia is the first-of-its-kind here. Learners will be able to visualise the content in three dimensions. This makes learning more fun and memorable,” she said.

3D Manipulation with AR Technology

MCE is working with MXR International Pte Ltd (MXRi), a specialist provider of AR and Virtual Reality (VR) solutions for education, publishing and training, to bring science to life through the SnapLearn platform. Illustrations in the encyclopedia come alive with a simple scan of the page using the SnapLearn app. A three-dimensional figure, which can be rotated 360 degrees, will appear to help learners better understand concepts and retain knowledge.

The Mini Science Encyclopedia (Eighth Edition) will be available in all major bookstores in Singapore and on in November retailing at $21.50 (subject to 7% GST).
