HELEN MARJAN

As the author and pedagogical consultant of FIRST STEPS From Phonics to
Reading, Helen Marjan has over 30 years of experience in early childhood
education. She has a sound understanding of children’s EFL learning needs
and purposes, and of current theories on how children learn. Helen was the
Chief Executive Officer and Director of Studies of a reputable education
chain in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China for 15 years, and for ten
years she was a Consultant Teaching Fellow with one of UK’s top universities
for education.
