About the Competition

In the coming new year, Marshall Cavendish Education cordially invites 11 – 19 years old students to participate in our very first MCE Scribo Writing Competition.

With the help of various aided features on Scribo Literatu, an online writing platform, students get the chance to experience how the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can refine, enhance and perfect their writing and redefine the way they look at writing assignments.

Categories

This competition is open to 4 main student categories - Students age between 11-12 years old, 13-15 years old, 16-17 years old, 18-19 years old.  Students from each category will choose one out of the three questions provided and only one entry per student will be accepted.

What to Submit? 

Students will be tasked to submit a writing piece based on the category that they are in. One submission per student via the Scribo platform. More information will be shared during the information session.

Who can Join? 

This competition is currently open to all schools in Malaysia. Categories include the above age groups: 11-12 years old, 13-15 years old, 16-17 years old, 18-19 years old.  

*Kindly enquire with your respective distributor or sales representatives if you are residing in countries outside Malaysia.

How to Submit?

After the registration is completed, each participant will be issued an individual Scribo account. Participants can do their writing on the Scribo platform and use the features within to refine their writing. Once the writing is completed, participants will submit their final entries on the platform for grading.

 
 

Prizes

Win up to $10,000 worth of prizes! 1 winner will be selected from each category.

  • 1 year of Scribo subscription for winner's school for the grade level
  • Other digital solutions by MCE
  • Top 10 essays will have direct entry to the Global Essay Writing Competition (to be announced at a later date)
  • Top 10 essays may stand  chance to have their works published in MCE educational publications

*All participating schools will be awarded a certificate for participation.

 
 

Judging Criteria

Round 1: Scribo’s Artificial Intelligence will sieve out the Top 10 pieces in each category based on the writing rubrics.

Round 2: Entries will be further reviewed by MCE’s internal judging panel of educational specialists.

Other terms and conditions

1. Marshall Cavendish Education is the organiser of the Scribo Writing Competition.
2. All information shared to us will follow Marshall Cavendish Education's data protection and privacy statements.
3. Winners will be informed via email or social media messenger depending on the information given.
4. Winners will be selected by the Organiser's internal panel of judges and the decision is final.
5. All entries are sent at the risk of the Contestant and in the event that there are technical difficulties experienced arising out of the internet or from any associated equipment or internet security is compromised, the Organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion disqualify the entire entry and shall not accept any liability doing so.
6. The Prize is as stated and is non-transferable and not-for-sale. No cash alternatives will be offered. If due to circumstances beyond the Organiser’s control, the Organiser is unable to provide the stated Prize or any part thereof, the Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or greater value, to be determined at the Organisers’ sole discretion.
7. Later submission will be automatically void.
8. Marshall Cavendish Education reserves the right to change the prize of equivalent value as deemed fit

About Scribo

Scribo - Research Question and Literature Search Tool is an interactive study tool that supplies the student writer with suggestions and information on research papers and library searches. With a dialogue of 27 questions sequenced to support the work-in-progress, Scribo helps the student to process initial ideas and structure the research. Scribo further prepares for supervision and helps the student conduct a literature search. With the assistance of Scribo, the student will be better equipped to write a research paper and meet with supervisors and research librarians.
