About the Webinar

As schools increasingly adopt online professional development (PD) models, a persistent challenge remains: how to ensure that such initiatives lead to meaningful and sustained changes in classroom practice. This webinar examines how online professional development, when intentionally designed around Lesson Study, can strengthen teachers’ capacity to implement differentiated instruction effectively in authentic classroom contexts.

Drawing on research-informed practice and real-world school contexts, the session explores how collaborative lesson planning, observation, reflection, and refinement can be successfully adapted to an online PD environment. Participants will gain practical insights into how Lesson Study structures support deeper pedagogical dialogue, evidence-informed decision-making, and responsiveness to diverse learner needs—despite physical distance.

The webinar highlights key design principles for effective online PD, including sustained collaboration, purposeful facilitation, and alignment between professional learning goals and classroom implementation. Practical examples illustrate how online Lesson Study cycles can enhance teacher practice, promote instructional coherence, and lead to more intentional differentiation in teaching and learning.

This session is designed for teachers, instructional leaders, school leaders, and PD designers seeking to move beyond one-off online workshops towards collaborative, practice-based professional learning that delivers tangible classroom impact.
