About the Competition

Welcome to the exhilarating world of numbers and problem-solving! Marshall Cavendish Education proudly presents the 16th Annual Mathlympics Competition, which aims to discover young mathematical talents in the region and cultivate the joy and enthusiasm for Mathematics amongst students.

This prestigious Singapore Math Olympiad competition invites all grades 4 - 7 students globally to compete in a concept competition that poses carefully curated questions on arithmetic, number theory, combinatorics, logic, geometry, measures and measurement, and algebra.

Regional Round

Topics, Format and Duration

Topics: Arithmetic, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Logic, Geometry, Measures and Measurement, Algebra

Format: 28 open-ended questions in Vault section + 30 open-ended questions in Sprint section

Vault Section: First 1.5 hours
Q1 to Q10: 2 marks each (1-2 Bonus marks will be given for 9-10 correct answers respectively)

Q11 to Q20: 4 marks each (3-5 Bonus marks will be given for 8-10 correct answers respectively)

Q21 to Q28: 5 marks each (5-7 Bonus marks will be given for 6-8 correct answers respectively)
Sprint Section Q1 to Q30: 1 mark each

Sprint Section: Last 0.5 hours

Duration: 1.5 hours
Mode: Online
Calculators may NOT be used.

The Global Round of Annual Mathlympics will be held physically in Singapore in June 2024. Stay tuned for more details!

Marks will be awarded for correct answers only. There will be no deduction of marks for wrong answers or unattempted questions. All decisions made by the organizers and judges will be final.

Competition Entry Fee: SGD 30

You will receive a confirmation email from Kalodu via your registered email. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please check your junk or spam mail folder.

 

Awards & Prizes

Regional Round

Gold / Silver / Bronze Award

Top students will be awarded a Gold / Silver / Bronze medal and certificate.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to all other students.

Global Round

Global Champion

The top student of the competition will be awarded a trophy.

Top Country Winners

Top winners from each participating country will be awarded a trophy.

All remaining contestants will be awarded a medal.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to all students.

  1. Marshall Cavendish Education is the organiser of the Matlympics
  2. All information shared to us will follow Marshall Cavendish Education's data protection and privacy statements.
  3. Winners will be informed via email or social media messenger depending on the information given.
  4. Winners will be selected by the Organiser's panel of judges and the decision is final.
  5. All submissions for the competition are at the risk of the Contestant and in the event that there are technical difficulties experienced arising out of the internet or from any associated equipment or internet security is compromised, the Organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion disqualify the entire entry and shall not accept any liability doing so.
  6. The prize is as stated and is non-transferable and not-for-sale. No cash alternatives will be offered. If due to circumstances beyond the Organiser’s control, the Organiser is unable to provide the stated prize or any part thereof, the Organiser reserves the right to substitute the prize with an item of equal or greater value, to be determined at the Organisers’ sole discretion.
  7. Late submission will be automatically void.
  8. The registration / competition fee is non-refundable or exchangeable for products or services.
  9. The Organiser reserves the rights to amend the terms and conditions without prior notice.
