Soon Jinn is the Head of Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE), where he leads a global team of over 200 employees across 8 international offices, including the headquarters in Singapore. Under his visionary leadership, MCE has built a robust network of sustainable education solutions that address learning gaps worldwide.
A driving force behind MCE’s digital transformation, Soon Jinn spearheaded a strategic overhaul that introduced innovative print and blended learning initiatives. This transformation not only unlocked new revenue streams but also significantly enhanced customer and partner adoption, strengthening MCE’s market position. Within just 18 months, these efforts led to a 30% increase in productivity, supported by a lean cost structure and a scalable user acquisition strategy.
Soon Jinn has also been instrumental in forging strategic partnerships focused on digital education across key regions including Central Asia, Southeast Asia, North and South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and the United States. He oversees core business operations including sales, marketing, branding, digital innovation, professional development, and learning solutions, and is actively involved in initiatives at the ministry level.
With over 18 years of experience in the EdTech sector, Soon Jinn is a seasoned leader known for building new sales channels and cultivating high-impact partnerships. His entrepreneurial mindset and proven track record in business transformation are complemented by his strong people leadership and strategic acumen.
Prior to MCE, Soon Jinn co-founded Heulab, a technology company where he successfully raised capital and delivered EdTech and IT solutions to clients including ministries of education, school leaders, and global tech giants such as Microsoft, Apple, and Samsung. His work earned distinguished recognition from Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Singapore’s President (then Minister of Finance) Tharman Shanmugaratnam, highlighting Heulab’s innovation and contribution to the education industry.
