Critical Thinking by Design: Applying Effective Strategies for Lesson Plans and Curriculum Guides Webinar

About the Webinar

Now that we've established a clear framework for what critical thinking looks like in modern education in Redefining Critical Thinking for Educators, it’s time to take the next step: how do we systematically build it into our day-to-day practice?

In this hands-on follow-up session, we move from the general to the particular. You will learn how to turn general goals—such as evaluating evidence and constructing strong arguments—into concrete lesson-plan routines and curriculum guides. Discover how to intentionally design daily learning experiences that require students to interrogate information, clarify assumptions, and think deeply by default.

Key Takeaways

  • From Concept to Blueprint: Translate the foundational critical thinking framework into actionable, step-by-step lesson plan components.
  • Designing for working with evidence: Embed specific routines for students to systematically evaluate sources and evidence.
  • Argumentation Frameworks: Craft inquiry-based prompts and scaffolding tools that require students to build and defend robust, evidence-backed arguments.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Map critical thinking strategies across units to ensure analytical rigour is built into your scope and sequence, not treated as an add-on activity.
