Creating Engaging English Learning: Deep Learning Perspectives
By Dr. Luciana

Deep learning has been promoted as our underlying approach to learning. Even though the importance of fun and active learning has been the primary focus of English learning, one question needs to be answered. Has fun and active learning led to deep learning? How can we develop it to deep learning?

This workshop aims to help teachers extend their fun and active learning to deep learning.

Session Dates: 17th and 24 Jan 2026 (Medan and Jakarta)

Deep Learning in Mathematics: Building Metacognition and Problem-Solving Skills with Primary Mathematics
By Dr. Dicky Susanto

This workshop demonstrates how the Primary Mathematics (Bahasa Indonesia) series promotes deep learning by helping students think critically, reason flexibly, and reflect on their strategies. Using sample lessons from Grade 3 fractions, participants will explore practical ways to develop metacognitive habits - planning, monitoring, and evaluating thinking—while engaging in rich problem-solving tasks.

Session Date:  17th Jan 2026 (Medan only)

Deep learning for the Merdeka Curriculum
By Dr. Norhuda Musa

This workshop explores Deep Learning, a key feature of the Primary Mathematics Merdeka Curriculum. It emphasizes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and the ability to apply learning in real-life contexts. Grounded in a student-centered approach, it fosters metacognitive reflection, and intentional engagement. Students focus on why they are learning, cultivating purpose and relevance.

Educators will explore strategies to create learning environments that spark curiosity, promote classroom discourse, and support reflective thinking. To illustrate practical implementation, the workshop uses the unique features of Singapore Math to demonstrate how Deep Learning can be effectively integrated into classroom practice.
