About the Webinar

Critical thinking lies at the heart of the MCE Lower Secondary Global Perspectives programme. Join us for this webinar as we take a deeper look at how critical thinking skills and attributes are systematically developed through the programme's carefully structured content and learning progression.

Dr. Roy van den Brink-Budgen

Dr. Roy van den Brink-Budgen

Dr Roy van den Brink-Budgen has been working in the field of Critical Thinking since 1987. He has worked with thousands of teachers and students (from primary to post-graduate) in many different countries and contexts. He has worked in the area of the assessment of Critical Thinking for many years. He was Chief Examiner in Critical Thinking with Cambridge Assessment. He was also consultant in Critical Thinking to the UK Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. In addition, he has produced Critical Thinking assessments for the Future Geniuses programme in Saudi Arabia as well as those for the Gifted and Talented programme of the Ministry of Culture in the same country.

He has delivered presentations to a large number of international conferences on Critical and Creative Thinking (including ICOT – the International Conference on Thinking) in various countries of the world. He has written many books for students on Critical Thinking (including the first written for school-age students) and has also produced many other resources for both teachers and students. These include an AI Critical Thinking Coach for both teachers and students.

He is a consultant with Marshall Cavendish on Critical Thinking, and has worked with the Principals Academy of Singapore, delivering many courses in the subject for teachers.
