22 April 2025 – Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) recently launched its sustainability campaign Turning the Page. The campaign focuses on creating sustainable initiatives to foster opportunities for students to learn new content and share knowledge that they know. It’s a movement that encourages schools, communities and even homes to share the reading materials that they have already learned with someone else. The campaign seeks for communities to create a space that allows people to donate and read reading materials, creating an never-ending cycle of new readers for existing books.
UNESCO launched the
Education for Sustainable Development to overcome key sustainable development issues in teaching and learning, such as climate change, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity, poverty reduction, and sustainable consumption.
In MCE’s journey to ignite the joy of learning, the team understands that the journey of every student, teacher and school is different, and if gaps in the educational landscapes are not addressed, students and teachers are not able to receive the right skills and knowledge that would prepare them for the 21st century. Key stakeholders must look into the right strategies and resources to ensure every child has the opportunity for lifelong learning.
What is Sustainable Education?
Sustainable education looks beyond sustainable practices and the materials provided; it centers around the needs of a student’s lifelong learning. Stakeholders of each community need to examine the current teaching and learning experience and identify the gaps that prevent lifelong learning. Creating a unique solution ensures that We believe that turning the page to a sustainable education network begins with the easiest of steps. A book. With each community, teaching and learning take a unique form. Digital resources help elevate classroom experiences and map a student’s journey, yet books form the foundation that brings the most comfort and familiarity to students and teachers. It starts by creating a Turning Page corner with our
downloadable template and simple supplies to begin.

Marshall Cavendish Education collaborated with World Vision to donate more than 13,000 books to Cebu, Philippines, in November 2024. World Vision’s reading programmes provide opportunities for students in struggling communities by bringing access to educational materials and promoting the culture of reading to children.
