Summary

2024 marked a transformative period for education in Kyrgyzstan, as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic forged a pivotal partnership with MCE. MCE worked closely with different ministerial teams to ensure a sustainable plan that would help integrate national schools with prominent international standards curricula, nurturing and propelling students towards being future-ready learners.

Challenge

Kyrgyzstan embarked on significant educational reforms to elevate the quality of education and increase school attendance rates. This includes a detailed analysis of current areas of improvement and strategies in bridging both students and teachers to use the new resources. This collaboration also aims to introduce vital training programmes and educational resources across schools nationwide, equipping both teachers and students with the skills needed for the 21st century.

Solution

In addition to the new curriculum, MCE has implemented training and mentoring programmes that are designed to enhance competencies aligning with the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in Mathematics and Science.

Expert educators from MCE also delivered modules on essential concepts such as problem-solving and scientific inquiry, fostering a nationwide movement towards improved academic performance on both regional and international stages.

The partnership also introduced the Cerebry platform, an innovative AI tool that allows teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms, offering personalized learning experiences through unique questions and solutions tailored for each student.

Impact

Thanks to this partnership, over 2,000 public schools and 1.4 million students have benefitted from MCE’s new educational materials. These resources, spanning English, Mathematics, and Science for kindergarten through Grade 11, MCEre translated into local languages.
